PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
HOW TO DEAL WITH THE PASSIVITY OF (YOUNG) CITIZENS
Education and the right to access information are recognised as the most effective ways of forming active communities dealing with the passiveness of citizens, especially youths. The main goal of the project A.C.E. is supporting the active participation of citizens in the democratic life of the European Union through the innovative and informal education method of the Theatre of the Oppressed, public debates, media promotion, kindergartens involvement and more.
SUPPORT OF ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF EU CITIZENS
The project A.C.E. includes the preparation of two international trainings, one intended for youths and the other for youth workers. The Young participants will gain knowledge and skills about the Theatre of the Oppressed, according to which they will prepare theatre performances locally, competing against each other. All the participants of two selected performances will visit Brussels and take a tour of the European institutions. Youth workers attending the training will prepare local events intended for the general public, and partner organisations will arrange national consultations, debates or round tables on specific European challenges. The project also covers a citizens’ brochure in cooperation with kindergarten children, a handbook for teachers and a reflexive documentary film about the challenges of Europe.
