PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

PROMOTING EMPOWERMENT, PARTICIPATION AND THE ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP OF YOUNG PEOPLE
The impacts of the recession on the labor market and its aftermath have fallen most heavily on younger people. The unemployment rate for those under thirty is nearly double the average rate. The aim of this project is to investigate the current situation of young people in Europe, focusing specifically on those who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs), to understand the economic and social consequences of their disengagement from the labor market and education and to look at measures for preventing young people from becoming and remaining NEETs.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

DEVELOPING NEW WORKING APPROACHES WITH THE NEETs TOWARD SOCIAL INCLUSION
During 24 months, the seven partners of the project develop two different trainings (one about storytelling and the second one about REAL-E) and conduct experimentation of this method with 10 NEETs per partner (70 young people in total). As such, 14 facilitators of the partners will be trained to use the educational tools developed through two short-term trainings.

While the project deals with NEETs and the development of youth workers’ competences, the partnership will work on the Comp-Pass platform. This unique tool will allow for participants to:
Have a sense of belonging and help the youths develop self-confidence
Develop learning by doing activities through the development of IT competences
Make individual presentations through an innovative and creative tool (CV of the future)
Create CVs with hyperlinks to the e-portfolio profile
Include references and recommendations (multimedia, scanned documents, audio/video)
Provide accessibility of any important and useful information for employers, training centers, hosting organizations
Help with tutoring of the young people, through coaching and follow up.

This final objective is to motivate the young people to get back to employment, training or any other kind of resocialization project (such as volunteering).

TANGIBLE RESULTS:
Training on storytelling guidebooks for youth workers
Training on self-knowledge guidebooks for youth workers
Online platform for soft competences assessment and valorization
These three project outputs will be free to use through various networks: partners’ websites, the project’s website and European networks of dissemination, among others.
